CATS minutes 2/13

6) CAT WORK UPDATE:
A) What CAT tasks have you accomplished to date? (use previous minutes) We met with Basil and established the two deliverables. We sent the thank you note. Since last week we have gotten a response email from Basil with contacts for two people to interview. We replied to Basil and also sent the two contacts interview questions. We have also met with Basil, Nora, Jeanien, and interviewed them. We got a better idea from the two other people what they wanted us to do for them. We also attended a Gund Tea event.
B) What immediate and long-term CAT tasks lie ahead for the week, and who will execute? For the immediate tasks we need to figure out equipment to use for the facebook live broadcast for the Gund Slam event/the practice Gund Tea event. Long term we need to attend a Gund Tea event and create ways to promote the Gund Slam event. We also need to figure out the electronics and technology that will need to be used for the Facebook live broadcast.
C) What was the most CHALLENGING element re: the past week's CAT work? Completing our interview.
D) What was the most REWARDING element re: about the past week's CAT work? Completing our interview and also meeting Nora and Jeanien in person.
E) What is your CAT doing really well right now? Communicating with each other!
F) What is your CAT needing to work on right now? Figuring out equipment for the FaceBook live broadcast.

Group Interview with Basil, Jeanine and Nora
What does Nora do?
Research coordinator: operation management for GUND. Manage
budgets, and bring speakers series together. Call speakers to come and talk and
coordinate research. Work with faculty to develop and funded.
Nora does more administrative things.
What does Jeanine do?
Invites
Make sure the students agree to host the event.
Making sure space and food is available.
Following up and making sure everything is planned and in
place for the event.
Sending out emails to faculty and students seeing who wants
to submit what they would like to submit
Where do you plan on
hosting the event?
Silver pavilion at the alumni house
What time and date?
Time 1-5 on 4/20
What happens during
the GUND slam?
What the slam is = 4 minute talk.
Each participant explains their research and projects
Student, faculty and deans are all welcome
Present what research that they are doing through the GUND
institute
Are other schools
invited?
JUST UVM in terms of presentation
In terms of who comes possible special guest outside of the
University
VIP list from places outside of UVM- presenting will be UVM

The Gund Slam event is a long term task that we need to promote and figure out how we are going to promote the event. the immediate tasks are that we need to follow up with basil and do the interviews with other members of the Gund team.
C) What was the most CHALLENGING element re: the past week's CAT work? Not hearing back from Basil and not being able to conduct our interviews.
D) What was the most REWARDING element re: about the past week's CAT work? Coming up with a game plan and the two deliverables. It was rewarding to know that we will be working on something we are all interested in.
E) What is your CAT doing really well right now? We are goal oriented and our group dynamic and communication is really good.
F) What is your CAT needing to work on right now? Getting our interviews done and reaching out to Basil again.
